The Book of Revelation was written about 95 A.D. by the Apostle John. God the Father gave Jesus Christ the words of the book, which He in turn gave to an angel to tell John.

And so it was that the apostle John, while exiled by the Romans to the island of Patmos, was given to write the Book of Revelation. A book of the Bible that, more than any other, speaks of events coming in our time now.
The seven churches (Revelation chapters 2 and 3), located in Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea, were listed in their geographical order along an ancient triangular highway route in what is today western Turkey, touching on the Aegean Sea. The island of Patmos was just off the coast.

The seven churches had both immediate and prophetic applications. That is to say, they were used in the prophecy of the future events while they were actual churches of that time, as shown on the map above.

Day 2: Ephesus and Leodicia.

We will start with the world famous ancient Roman site of Ephesus, one of the seven wonders of the Ancient World. There we will visit the house of Virgin Mary and the first church of this tour: ‘The Church of St. John the Theologian’. After lunch we will drive to Pamukkale via ‘The Church of Leodica’. Overnight stay in Pamukkale.

In the morning we visit the ancient city of Hierapolis and St. Philips Martyrdom. After lunch we depart from Pamukkale to visit the ancient city and ruins of the famous ‘Church of Sardis’ and then the remains of the ‘Church at Philadelphia.

In the morning we visit the ‘Church of Pergamum’, the red-court Acropolis and the Asclepion in Pergamum. After lunch we drive to see the site of the ‘Church of Izmir’ (Smyrna) via the ‘Church of Thyatira’. We will stay overnight in Izmir.
